Riley Nash Picked The Right Time To Step Up For The Bruins

After going 12-3-0 in their first 15 games under Bruce Cassidy, the Bruins lost four in a row and briefly dropped out of the postseason picture.

Just as it seemed like they were ready to choke away a playoff spot for the third year in a row, the B’s came through with a much-needed 2-1 win over the Islanders in Brooklyn on Saturday night.

The two best performances in Boston’s most important win of the season thus far came from a couple names you wouldn’t expect.  In fact, both of them turned in the biggest game of their Bruins’ career.  

Anton Khudobin had a solid game in place of Tuukka Rask, who was out with a lower-back injury.  Scoring-wise, both goals for the B’s came off the stick of Riley Nash. 

Nash now has four goals and six points in 21 games since the All-Star break after just three goals and nine points in his first 52 games of the season.

The Bruins will look to build off the momentum of this win on Tuesday night when they welcome the Nashville Predators to the Garden.  Puck drops at 7 pm.
