Jackie Bradley Jr. is probably the best defensive center fielder in all of baseball.  We’ve known this ever since he was a 23 year-old kid hitting below the Mendoza line.

Luckily his offense has come around in the last couple years, allowing him to stick around and provide us with some of the greatest catches we’ll ever see.

His latest one against the Yankees on Sunday night may have been the best one yet.  With the Sox leading 3-0 in the top of the 8th at Fenway, Aaron Judge came to the plate with a runner on first.  The league leader in home runs did everything he could to make it a one-run game, sending a David Price fastball to the deepest part of the park in center field.  Then this happened:

There’s no doubt that the landing spot of that ball would have been in the Yankees bullpen if JBJ hadn’t pulled it back.  His incredible play preserved the shutout which led to what was probably David Price’s best start in a Red Sox uniform.

The Sox won the game 3-0 and split the four-game series with New York to start the second half of the season.
