Celtics End Four-Game Skid
If the Celtics had lost to the 9-60 Sixers in Phildelphia Sunday night, all hell would have broken loose.
The C’s had already dropped 5 of their last 6 and managed to slip down from the third seed down to the sixth in the East.
The Jae Crowder injury has obviously taken a toll on them, and all they needed was a loss to the worst team in the NBA for people to start writing them off and evacuating the bandwagon.
Luckily, the Celtics were able to save their season by taking care of business in a 120-105 win. This isn’t a win to get excited about. This is a team we should beat 10 times out of 10. It was just a nice reminder that we don’t suck, and hopefully the C’s can use to it propel themselves to another win streak (remember those?).
Boston had six players finish in double figures, but the biggest positive from this game in terms of individual performances was the play of Amir Johnson. He shot 9-10 from the field on his way to a season-high 18 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.
The C’s have now moved up to the fifth seed. They’re only a half game out of 4th and a game out of 3rd, so it’s highly possible for them to reclaim home court advantage if they can continue to not suck.
They’re now 40-30, and have already matched their win total from last year with 12 games still remaining in the regular season.
They’ll take on the Magic at the Garden Monday night as they try to end a two-game home losing streak after previously winning 14 in a row.
