Bruins End Losing Streak With 3-1 Win In Toronto
The Bruins snapped their longest losing streak since 2010 on Saturday night with a 3-1 win over the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
The victory was much-needed for the B’s who were able to gain some ground in the Eastern Conference playoff race. They’re now third in the Atlantic and three points on Detroit with 88.
The highlight of the game was this impressive backhand goal from Zdeno Chara which turned out to be the game-winner, putting Boston up 2-1 in the second period:

It was Chara’s first goal in 20 games, ending his longest scoreless drought since 2010-2011. The last time Zdeno had scored was on February 13th. It was his eighth goal of the year and he now has 34 points.
The Bruins’ other two goals came from Patrice Bergeron and Matt Beleskey.
For Bergy it was his 29th goal on the season, good for 13th in the NHL. It also broke Boston’s five-game streak without a power play goal. Beleskey’s goal, an empty-netter that made it 3-1 late in the third, was his 14th.
Ben Smith scored the lone goal for the Maple Leafs.
Tuukka Rask was solid between the pipes, finishing with 25 saves.
Some might look at this as any easy win because the Toronto currently has the worst record in the league, but the Leafs had won three in a row and six of their last eight.
The B’s have a couple days off before they take on the Devils in New Jersey Tuesday night.
