Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, And More Say Farewell To Paul Pierce In New Players’ Tribune Video

The Clippers were eliminated by the Jazz in Los Angeles on Sunday, which means Paul Pierce’s 19-year NBA career has officially come to a close.

Pierce has been an active contributor to The Players’ Tribune since Derek Jeter launched the site a few years ago, and they put together quite the tribute video for him.  It includes some kind words from teammates, opponents, coaches, and friends:

Of course it’s nice to hear from KG, Rondo, Tony Allen, and a few more of Pierce’s Celtics teammates.  But the best part of this video is the perspective of his rivals, most notably Kobe Bryant.

For any long-time Celtics fan or fan of basketball in general, the NBA will never be the same without The Truth.

On Monday, Wyc Grousbeck confirmed that Pierce will indeed have his number 34 retired to the rafters at the Garden.  No surprise there.
