Robert Kraft Makes One Last Ditch Effort For Our Draft Picks
Robert Kraft has written a strongly worded letter to Roger Goodell and the NFL in regards to the return of the Patriots’ first round draft pick in this years draft. Robert Kraft and the rest of the world know it is a long shot but he laid out his best case in the letter. Seeing as how an NFL source told NFL Media’s Judy Battista there is “zero chance” the Patriots will get their first-round pick back, this letter is a last ditch effort.
The Pats know that the draft is the “lifeblood of NFL success” and this letter laid out the reasons for why the league should return the pick. The NFL are still battling Tom Brady in Court as Brady won his appeal in court last year. Now the NFL is making their appeal and rumors are that their case is strong. While it is hard to imagine us getting our pick back, the most important part of this whole ordeal is that Tom gets back on that field for the start of the 2016 season.

While the first round pick has been stripped from the team for violating the leagues rules, the Patriots did acquire Jonathan Cooper and a 2016 second round pick for Chandler Jones this off-season. While the loss of Jones was tough, the Pats have traded for the right players to fit the roles they need and still have the cap space to sign important players like Malcolm Butler and Dont’a Hightower. As you’ve read from Jack Bardsley, we acquired TE Martellus Bennett recently and may most certainly have the deadliest two tight end system in the NFL. At this point let’s hope for a season full of Brady and his improved offensive system.
